This Privacy Policy describes how Robotic Assistance Devices Residential, Inc. (“RAD-R,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, retains, and deletes information in connection with the SARA Connect application and related services (the “App”). SARA Connect is a companion application that works with Ring cameras and doorbells you have authorized, adding intelligent event summaries and a persistent human-escalation service on top of your existing Ring system. This policy applies to the App and to the SARA services delivered through it. The App is offered only in the United States. This policy does not apply to Ring products or services themselves, which are governed by Ring's own privacy policy and terms, or to other products offered by our affiliates, which carry their own agreements. Our principal office is located at 10800 Galaxie Avenue, Ferndale, MI 48220, United States. Contact information appears at the end of this policy.
SARA Connect connects to your Ring account only through Ring's authorized developer interfaces, and only after you explicitly link your Ring account and select the cameras the App may access. Our access is read-only: the App receives event notifications, event metadata, and images or video associated with events from the cameras you have authorized. We cannot control your Ring devices, change your Ring settings, or access cameras you have not selected.
SARA Connect is an independent application developed by RAD-R. It is not manufactured, endorsed, or sponsored by Ring LLC or Amazon.com, Inc. Ring and all related marks are trademarks of their respective owners. Your use of Ring devices and services remains subject to Ring's own terms of service and privacy policy, and video storage and playback may require an active Ring subscription.
You may revoke the App's access to your Ring account at any time, either within the App or through your Ring account's authorized-application settings. Revoking access stops all further collection of Ring data by the App immediately.
We collect only the information required to provide, support, and improve the features of the App, consistent with the principle of data minimization. We collect the following categories of information:
Account and subscription information: your name, email address, phone number, selected plan and add-ons, subscription status, and transaction information used to create and secure your account, administer billing, and reach you. Payments may be processed by Ring or our payment processor under their respective privacy policies; we receive the subscription and transaction status needed to administer the Service.
Escalation contacts, response plans, and dispatch information: the names, phone numbers, and contact channels (such as SMS, WhatsApp, or voice call) of the people you designate to be notified when an event requires attention; the schedules, quiet hours, and escalation rules you configure; and, if you enroll in Human Monitoring, the site name, service address, callback contact, and access or response instructions you provide. You must have the authority or permission to provide a contact's information; we verify contact phone numbers and obtain per-channel consent from contacts before sending them notifications.
Preferences and settings: camera selections, workflow and trigger settings, notification preferences, and feedback you provide (for example, marking an event as expected or routine).
Device information: the camera names, device types, and online status of the Ring devices you authorize.
Event metadata: timestamps, event types (such as motion or doorbell press), and the camera associated with each event.
Event images and video: images and, where applicable, video associated with events from your authorized cameras, used to generate event descriptions and to display events to you. Video playback is provided through Ring and may require your Ring subscription.
AI-generated event descriptions: plain-language summaries of what appears in event images (for example, “a delivery driver left a package at the front door”), generated by our SARA artificial-intelligence service.
Notification and delivery logs: a record of each notification sent through your response plan — the channel used, delivery status, and whether and when a contact acknowledged it.
Technical information: app version, device type, log and diagnostic data, and usage information reasonably necessary to operate, secure, and improve the App.
We do not collect information about you from data brokers, social media platforms, public databases, government records, or any other external sources, and we do not combine App data with information compiled from such sources.
We use the information described above solely to provide, support, and improve the features and services of the App. Specifically, we use it to: operate your account and authenticate you; receive and display events from your authorized Ring cameras; generate AI event descriptions and organize events so routine activity is easier to set aside; run the response plans you configure, including delivering notifications to your designated contacts and tracking acknowledgements; answer your searches about your own event history; provide customer support; maintain security, prevent fraud and abuse, and comply with law; and diagnose and improve the reliability and quality of the App.
We will not use your information for a purpose that is materially different from the purposes described in this policy without first obtaining your consent. Data collected for one purpose is not repurposed for another without that additional consent. We do not use data gathered from your Ring cameras or other integrated devices for marketing, advertising, or usage-based data mining.
SARA analyzes individual event images from your authorized cameras to produce plain-language descriptions and to apply the notification rules you set. SARA does not decide what is an emergency — you do. It describes what it sees, applies your rules, and then works to make sure the moment is not missed.
Equally important is what the App does not do:
No facial recognition or biometric identification: the App contains no facial recognition capability. It does not create, collect, or store facial templates, embeddings, voiceprints, gait analysis, or any other biometric identifiers, and it does not identify strangers, passersby, or any specific individual.
No matching against external databases: the App does not match anything captured on camera against social media profiles, government databases, marketing databases, pre-loaded face databases, or any other external source.
No tracking of individuals: the App does not build movement profiles of individuals, does not track or correlate specific individuals across locations or across different customer accounts, and does not alert when a particular person enters a geographic area.
No profiling of people on camera: the App does not collect, map, or derive personal information about individuals captured on video beyond the plain-language event descriptions displayed to you.
Learning without identifying: pattern features (such as recognizing that a recurring event is routine) are based on event timing, camera, and event type — never on identifying who a person is.
The App may not be used to monitor, track, surveil, stalk, harass, or intimidate any individual. Any such use violates our terms of service and will result in termination of access.
The App collects and uses data only with your consent. Linking your Ring account, selecting cameras, and activating a response plan each require an affirmative action by you — we do not use pre-checked boxes or implied consent. If a feature ever involves a collection or use of data you would not reasonably expect, we will disclose it prominently in the normal operation of the App — not buried in a menu or policy — and obtain your consent through a clear, affirmative action before proceeding.
You may withdraw consent at any time through easily accessible controls: you can deselect cameras, deactivate response plans, revoke the App's Ring authorization, or delete your data or your entire account from within the App, as described in Section 10. Withdrawing consent stops the associated collection and use going forward.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their marketing or advertising. We do not use your data to build user profiles beyond the operation of the App, and we do not use Ring customer data to build databases for sale. We share information only in the following limited circumstances:
Service providers: we use a limited number of vendors to deliver the App's services, including communications providers (such as Twilio) that transmit SMS, WhatsApp, and voice-call notifications, cloud hosting providers that store App data, payment processors that support subscriptions, and AI infrastructure providers that process event images to generate descriptions. If you enroll in Human Monitoring, Centralized Vision, Inc., a professional monitoring provider based in Phoenix, Arizona, may receive event descriptions and images, site and dispatch information, contact details, and response-plan status as needed to review an event, contact you or your contacts, and, when authorized by your response plan, contact police or other authorities. Service providers may use information only to provide services to us, are bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations, and must delete or return information in accordance with our instructions and applicable law.
Your designated contacts: when you designate a contact in a response plan, that contact receives the notifications your plan generates, which may include an event description, camera name, and event image. You control who your contacts are and what your plans send.
Legal requirements: we may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or court order, or where necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users, the public, or RAD-R, subject to Section 8 below with respect to law enforcement.
Corporate transactions: if RAD-R is involved in a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy's commitments and with notice to you where required.
We do not provide law enforcement with direct or standing access to your cameras, recordings, or event data, and we maintain no mechanism that bypasses your knowledge or consent. We may share limited event and dispatch information with police or other authorities when (a) you have enrolled in Human Monitoring and your configured response plan authorizes Centralized Vision to contact authorities in response to an event, (b) you explicitly authorize disclosure for a specific request, or (c) we are compelled by valid legal process. When disclosure is required by legal process, we will notify you as promptly as the law allows. You may direct inquiries concerning video stored by Ring to Ring, whose policies govern those recordings.
We retain information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy. Event records, AI-generated descriptions, and event images are retained for 90 days by default, after which they are automatically deleted; you may configure a shorter period in the App. Notification and delivery logs are retained for 12 months to provide your response history and support audit needs. Account and configuration information is retained for as long as your account is active. When a retention period expires or you delete data, the data is removed from our systems, including copies, backups, and archives, within 30 days.
We may retain limited records where required by law, and we maintain audit logs of deletion requests for compliance purposes. The App discloses the currently effective retention periods.
You may request deletion of your data at any time using available controls in the App or by contacting us:
Delete events: delete individual events, event images, and their AI descriptions, or clear your event history entirely.
Delete contacts and plans: remove escalation contacts and their information, and delete response plans and their history.
Delete your account: delete your entire account from within the App. Account deletion removes your account information, event data, AI descriptions, contacts, response plans, and notification logs.
We apply deletion requests to active systems promptly. Residual copies in backups and archives, and copies held by service providers on our behalf, are deleted or rendered inaccessible within 30 days, except where limited retention is required by law. We may retain a minimal audit record of the request and will confirm receipt and, where appropriate, completion. Deleting App data does not affect recordings stored by Ring in your Ring account, which you control through Ring.
We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. These include encryption of data in transit and at rest, access controls limiting which systems and personnel can access customer data, credential and token protection for Ring account links, and periodic review of our security practices. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat camera data with the sensitivity it deserves, and we will notify you and the relevant authorities of any breach as required by applicable law.
If you deploy the App in a workplace or other business setting, you are responsible for complying with applicable employment and surveillance laws, including providing appropriate notice to employees and others on the premises and obtaining any consents those laws require. Multi-camera and multi-site features operate only across cameras and properties under your own single Ring account; the App does not correlate data across distinct Ring customer accounts.
The App is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it. Camera footage may incidentally capture minors present at your property; such footage is handled under the same protections, minimization commitments, and deletion rights described in this policy.
Depending on your state of residence (including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Virginia, and others), you may have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use and share it; to access a copy of your personal information; to correct inaccurate information; to delete your personal information; and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Because we do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, there is nothing to opt out of on that front.
You can exercise most rights directly in the App (see Sections 6 and 10) or by contacting us using the information below. We will verify your request using your account information and respond within the time required by applicable law. You may use an authorized agent where your state provides for one, and you may appeal a decision by replying to our response.
We may update this policy as the App evolves. If we make material changes - in particular, any change to the categories of data collected, the purposes of use, or sharing practices - we will notify you in the App and, where required, obtain your renewed consent before the change applies to you. The “Last Updated” date above reflects the current version, and prior versions are available on request. The current Privacy Policy is available at https://saraconnect.ai/privacy.
